But since the park is open 24 hours I guess you can just go stargaze whenever you want. I'll have to look into visiting the park of the same name in Australia!Jillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04163745830176990523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7236483471506976307.post-9164420693061774622017-01-22T11:48:58.481-08:002017-01-22T11:48:58.481-08:00We visited the Great Sand Dunes NP a few years ago...We visited the Great Sand Dunes NP a few years ago in January. We loved sand sledding and sand boarding here and practically had the park to ourselves. It is such a surreal place to find in Colorado. It would be so neat to return and see the creek one of these days. I am surpised to know you can just go wandering where ever you want and even sandboarding is allowed. Do you know if any camping is allowed for these night stars?Kreetehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06557600864312870385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7236483471506976307.post-28876372475437274342017-01-20T04:51:53.169-08:002017-01-20T04:51:53.169-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Kreetehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06557600864312870385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7236483471506976307.post-40486138464217799712017-01-19T16:09:06.993-08:002017-01-19T16:09:06.993-08:00Thank you! In fact, I think my son is going back sometime in the spring so they can play in the creek. The sand wasn't that hot but the day we were there wasn't that hot either even though it was July. We stopped on our drive from Durango back to Denver so we knew it would be a road trip stop and just a short visit so we didn't attempt any sledding. Still, I'm glad we did it! Even though we wore sneakers, the sand would pour into them as our feet sunk into the sand as we walked. We also brought the wrong stuff for sledding. Cardboard does not work. So, we spent most of our time splashing in Medano Creek which was still flowing at that time.Michele {Malaysian Meanders}https://www.blogger.com/profile/18313351463568423694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7236483471506976307.post-54067513305860162582017-01-14T17:16:23.647-08:002017-01-14T17:16:23.647-08:00Hmmm.
