Hey Baby, Let's Go To Vegas

Las Vegas. Sin City. Home of the Rat Pack. The Hangover. Showgirls and Gamblers. Hustlers and Hawkers. What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas. Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties.Or Stag and Hen parties, if you will. Smoke and Mirrors. Some of my family visits there every year. And some of my family actually lives there (unfortunately, they were out of town for our visit)  I hadn't been there in over 20 years. And the city had changed -it had grown by leaps and bounds. The last time I was there I learned I wasn't a gambler. And for me, Vegas...um, not so much. I do love it's setting in the desert though.  So why was I even there? We were meeting my oldest in southwestern Utah and Las Vegas was the least expensive (and closest) city to fly into. So to Las Vegas we went.

We visited some National Parks and some state parks. Then we had a day left to walk the strip and see some of that Vegas magic. That's all we did - walk the strip and people watch.  So enough blabbing- here are some images from our day there. If you are a Vegas aficionado, then hopefully these photos will spur some memories and hold you over until you're next trip. Maybe you've never been so here's a sneak peek preview. Either way, I hope you enjoy them!

Which one is your favorite photo? How about you - do you dream of your next trip to Las Vegas?

  1. Vegas doesn't appeal to me personally, but I'm sure I'd love it if I went there. Everyone I know loves it! My favourite photo is the multiple Elvis shot. Awesome :)

    1. That's my favorite too, Jan! We were sitting having a drink at a sidewalk bar (actually I was having water cause it was super hot out) and several Elvis' walked by. But I only got a shot of those three. We said it must've been an Elvis convention. Only in Vegas!

    1. I know! Unfortunately, it was out of service - but I bought a cupcake inside instead!

  4. We are flying into Vegas in February and have an extra day there before going to Lake Havasu. I'm hoping to visit a fun restaurant and walk the strip, that's it. My favorite photo here is the foggy skyline, but I do think it's pretty cool that there's a cupcake ATM.

  6. We're not much of gamblers either but we love just walking around Vegas. There are always interesting people or displays to see throughout the strip!

    1. It's nice to know I'm not the only non-gambler - my family all loves to gamble so I feel like the odd man out. And I agree, it's always interesting!

  7. When I was a kid, we used to visit Las Vegas all the time as a side trip from visiting my aunt and uncle in California. Now, those people live in Vegas, and I haven't managed to squeeze in a visit. I'm not a gambler, and one drink makes me tipsy, so I guess I just enjoy the entire spectacle that is Vegas and the strip. Nice sneak peak.

    1. Vegas has really become the "see and be seen" city since I was last there. And it has also become quite the foodie city, too. I enjoy it and find it interesting but for me it's much better to do it in small doses. Hope you make it out to visit your family and see the spectacle of Sin City!
